Re: Car won't start

Now up to 13.0v and 59%. Seems like progress is slow but improving. Sounds like it might need that high amp “power charge” mentioned earlier in the thread (which my charging unit can’t do). Might have to take it into the dealer or somewhere with a high amp charger. At least it seems to be out of the...

Re: Car won't start

- Me too. My 12V battery just needed replacing. 4 years old, 53,000km. See :- Going on Vacation I too got to see some weird errors and behaviors from the almost flat 12V battery. It's been reported many times, so it was an easy guess to assume the problem is the 12V battery. Disappointed to see suc...

Re: Car won't start

Looks like it recovered to 12.9v and 49% but I don’t know the levels from when it was too low. It didn’t recover as much as I’d hoped, but it was still pretty cold again overnight. It was able to start this morning and I moved it back & forth ok. Will see if a 60 on round trip to work and back ...

Re: Car won't start

Timely coincidence that this thread popped up today - we encountered a no start situation this morning! It sat unused from Friday evening until this morning in the -20C temperatures, albeit it a few degrees warmer being parked in the garage. When my daughter went to drive to work this morning she go...

Re: New 2019 Soul EV - Charging Best Practices

Those are the same options in our 2018, so nothing new there that I'm aware of. Granted, we're in Canada too - but I doubt that makes a difference. Will be interested to see what others say.

Re: 50 miles to the charge.

You could ask the dealer for a State Of Health report, but I've seen reports of people being charged for that. Otherwise it is either Torque Pro or Soul Spy, both of which are Android only. Is there anything that could use a wired connection from the OBD port to a laptop or macbook and run scans et...

Re: Kia Soul EV winter weather.

Question - can we also set things up so that either front and/or rear defrost kick in 30 minutes before departure too? Or are we only able to set the timer and the temperature? Manual isn't very clear and I suspect that the answer is no - but I'm hoping there's something I missed that would allow t...

Re: Kia Soul EV winter weather.

Kind of sucks that you can't preheat unless your charging. Indeed. I can see it being a big battery drain for somebody like OP, but would be nice to have the option. I was looking at a M-B GLE 550e and battery permitting it would let the timer pre-heat even if not charged. But it's also a hybrid so...
