Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

I suppose the capacity would only matter if you run out of traction battery for whatever reason, and its night-time on an unlit road, etc, so yes, I'd parallel them.

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

Well, the original battery is 45 Ah, and two of yours in parallel only amount to 40Ah, so perhaps it's a good idea. I plan to shorten the rod with an angle grinder, and remove any burrs with a flap wheel. My view on seat covers is unconventional. I've never found one as comfortable as the original, ...

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

Thanks, that's very clear. I can get a 300mm or a 200mm, so I'll go for 300 and shorten it. The trick is to have a nut (all metal, not nyloc) already threaded on the shaft, before shortening. Then when you remove the nut, it straightens the distorted metal. Usually works. Looks like you have a spare...

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

That sounds good. I didn't think of using a lug hole to secure it. Now you've said it, it's obvious.

I'm going to do the same. Was the 250mm rod the right length, or did you have to shorten it?

Would be nice to see a pic.

Re: New-used 2016 range getting better

The range displayed is an estimate based on previous driving. You may be driving more economically than the previous owner, using less heating/aircon, etc. Generally, the achieved range improves with warmer weather, and the converse. Those factors, as well as the battery State of Health (SoH) would ...

Re: Electric Car Sales in Your Country

Very few electric vehicles here, which is crazy, because I live on an island 9 miles wide and 5 miles long! The Post Office has a fleet of Renault delivery vans, which the postmen seem to like. Ideal for their door-to-door work. There are a few Nissan Leaf, and I've seem one Tesla. I think I have th...

Re: My range keeps dropping?

Just to calibrate things, my Soul EV is 2.5 years old and 35,000 miles. The GOM states 128 miles and SoulSpy SOH is 100%. But I'm not in Arizona - my region is Southern UK/Northern France.

Re: Options to deal with degraded battteries other than warranty

That's very interesting, Omar. Thanks for posting it. I'd be interested to know how they get a Chevy Bolt 45 kWh battery into a Soul !
