Re: seat covers? seat cleaning?

Try a stain remover sold by pet shops for cleaning up after pet "accidents".

Re: New software update installation (video)

...My issue, just to keep things interesting, is the vehicle came to me without any SD card in the slot. My plan is to grab a blank SD card write the update to it and give it a go.... There may be a problem with that. See https://www.speakev.com/threads/map-media.149297/#post-2807138

Charger - 17th or 18th Edition???

I'm trying to choose a charger for my garage. I understand 18th edition compliant devices add a dc-sensitive protection device and quite a bit to the cost, but the device is only required on certain vehicles which give rise to the dc issue. What I cannot discover is whether the Soul EV is one of tho...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

For what it's worth, https://www.evspecifications.com lists the "30kWh" model as 31.8 kWh, but useable capacity 30kWh. Perhaps there is 1.8 kWh "at the bottom" which is not used, i.e. the car shuts down at that point? I think it hinges on whether the SOC refers to usable capacity...

Re: Charging to only 80% when not using timed charging?

- [...]This setting was removed in later cars because of a stupid EPA range rule.[...] Any idea what model years it was removed from? It seems the 2015 and 2016 had it. Which years do not? 2018 does not, to my sorrow. I have to estimate how long it will take to get to 80%.. At present, I am using t...

Re: What to watch out for? (Besides Battery Health)

Same colour as mine 8-)

I wasn't aware of heat pumps and battery heating when I bought it (2018 model) in January, but we've had a mild winter. How do you tell if your Soul EV has them fitted?

Re: Soul EV Spy Questions and Answers

No, the battery Max and Min Det and parameters derived from them (e.g. battery SOH) do not work for the 30kWh model, according to the developer.

Re: Burning plastic smell

I tried with the seat heating off - no smell. I then tried with it on again - no smell. So, inconclusive.

Re: Soul EV 2018 and EV Spy

If you need me to provide any specific info/data from my car to help improve the programme let me know how I can help. Thanks. As we now know you have a 30kWh battery and KIA have measured it at 99% SOH, it sounds like your data could be helpful to JejuSoul - The SOH readings given by Torque do not...

Re: Burning plastic smell

I have the same experience. I wear one of those "plastic" waterproof hi-vis jackets, and I wonder if that on the heated seat may be the cause. I'll try with the seat off.
