Re: Thinking of getting a higher mileage 2016

That sounds about right, particularly with it now being winter temperatures.

I think the options here have changed as the software has been updated.

Re: 2019 Soul EV heat pump noise on cold morning start-up

My 2016 is noticeable at times, usually cold temperatures but the car has warmed up enough that the internal fan speed has dropped. I sometimes hear it when doing AC in the summer. It sounds like an old noisy fridge compressor.

Re: help request to understand HVAC (heating) troubleshoot reference to check ev light

The HVAC system uses high voltage from the main battery for the compressor and I think also for the resistive heating wires. All the blower fan, solenoids and that kind of stuff use the 12V. If you have a problem on the high voltage stuff, you need to take it to a dealer. It's 400 Volts DC and capab...

Re: 2016 Soul EV: Do you say a Good Buy? Or a Goodbye?

You are always going to see the problem posts, and the owners who are happy busy driving rather than posting about it. I got my 2016 in September 2015 and I usually charge to 80% rather than 100%. There are a couple of days when I have to go out in the evening across town that I will charge to 100%....

Re: Pedestrian Warning System

In drive there is no sound when stationary. It only makes a sound when moving and only up to 20kph, after that there is enough tyre and wind noise that it doesn't bother making the sound. I think that the same speaker is used for both the forwards burble and the reversing bong, so if it is making on...

Re: Certified Kia EV tech locations

Normally you go to your countries Kia website, do "Find a Dealer" and the search function has "Authorized EV Dealer" as an option.

Re: 12V Battery Drains If Car Left Plugged In After Charge Complete

I would have said bad 12V battery at first, but now that you have replaced it, it means that you have something draining the 12V battery.

I think you need to start looking for where the power is going, pulling fuses and checking current flowing.

Re: 2015 Battery won't charge

Sounds like the On Board Charger (OBC) has died. There were a lot of those that died early on and a firmware update and test programme when taking the car in for service. If it is the OBC then charging with a Level 3 DC Fast Charger should still work as that goes straight to the battery rather than ...

Re: Harder braking and battery died

I think that you have 2 issues going on: 1) Hard braking car dies. This one concerns me, I suspect that you have an issue on your 12V system - the brakes need 12V to pump up the brake boost pressure and also 12V is needed to turn on the high voltage battery relay. I would get your 12V battery checke...
