Re: Battery Ageing Model

...Still going strong... Yes. That is strong. You will be over the 150,000km warranty limit in less than 12 months time. And very unlikely to get a replacement battery by then. If degradation continues in a linear fashion your car will not reach 70% degradation until 300,000km. Other cars have show...

Re: 2016 EV+ Battery Replacement Story

...the battery was charged to 84% and the car reported 98 miles remaining! ... Looks good. That would be 224 km on a full battery. Am guessing the reason your battery is showing a higher GOM than mine is the warmer weather (25C). I'll test mine again next week because the weather is much warmer her...

Corona Virus lockdowns.

- Firstly wishing good health and bright future to all those effected by the Corona Virus. Especially those currently in lockdown. Here in South Korea things are calm. We had a scary peak a few weeks ago but things have quietened since. I recommend the Korean government's approach to beating this vi...

Re: What is the total capacity of the MY2018 battery.

- We still have very little data on the 2018 Soul EV. No knowledge of the total battery capacity, nor any degradation data. But I now own a 2015 Soul EV with a replacement battery. The E400 cells I now have are the same as those used in the MY2018. I have begun to analyze the new cells :- Analysis o...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

- The value 31.8 kWh as the total capacity for the MY2018 battery is almost certainly fake. I do not trust the website evspecifications. They are falsely claiming that the number 31.8kWh is the number specified by the manufacturer. see :- 2018 Kia Soul EV Specifications https://abload.de/img/ev-spec...

Re: Kia Sportage 2016 (Korean version) firmware update help?

- I don't know why you want the Korean map if you don't live in Korea. But here is how to get it. Use Smart Updater Plus. The firmware and map you download will only load onto a car that was manufactured for the Korean market. You do not have to register if you choose the option on the lower left. h...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

- Some more guesses this time based on range data. Over the last few days I drove 170km. The SOC displayed dropped from 100% to 20%. Average temp was about 10C. The Energy Consumption displayed on the instrument cluster was 7.6 km/kWh. I had reset this at the start. So another guess of usable batter...

Re: Charging to only 80% when not using timed charging?

...Any idea what model years it was removed from? Which years do not? The 3 years 2017-2019 do not have this setting. The newest cars have a sliding scale, allowing you to set any value. For some reason this is allowed by the EPA, but not when it has pre-defined choices.- - You can see the change i...
