Re: Battery Ageing Model

- The new 64kWh Soul EV uses the same BMS codes as the N iro EV and the K ona EV. These are only slightly different from our own. Recently in Canada an owner of a new 64kWh Soul EV with 2000km on the odometer has complained, "It charges at 10kW at 65% SOC. 283km on the GOM fully charged. Dealer...

Re: Looking for my Second EV

- I have a 2015 that still has 100% SOH and can easily drive over 100 miles in all seasons here. ( We don't have cold winters, so no winter tires or snow to deal with. ) A 2018 with the slightly larger battery would be more likely to do that in colder weather, and probably the battery would last a b...

Re: 2016 Soul EV+ Battery Replacement - Remanufactured?

- I still have no proof that battery replacements for the 27kWh cars are now being doing with 30kWh packs. But there are certainly many stories about this now. There is a 2014 here in Jeju that just had its battery replaced after 110,000km. Kia told the owner that the new battery was 30kWh. I want t...

Re: Looking for my Second EV

- I looked on Craigslist to find the comparison price for the two cars you mention. A 2017 Soul EV and a 2017 N issan L eaf. I assume you live near Los Angeles, so that's where I looked first. Yes, in Los Angeles the Soul EV seems more expensive. I think that is because there are few of them. But, w...

Re: Battery Ageing Model

... Anecdotally all the websites seem to think that once a cell fails it will cause degradation in the rest of the pack to exponentially increase. But I am not seeing this. In fact I'm seeing the opposite. Because the weather is getting warmer, the battery pack in the BlueON seems to be getting bet...

Re: Bad battery?

-
Yes. Your battery has gone bad.
You will be getting a new battery under warranty soon.
Could you post again with some more details, eg. odometer, length of commute, speed of commute ...

I suggest you phone Kia Canada and let them know the rapid drop in range you are experiencing.

Re: Problem with battery cooling fan

- As far as I know you are the first to have this problem. It does seem that the fan is faulty. Have you checked the wiring? Here is the data table for Fan Status, Fan Feedback and the temps at which they come on: It seems your car is trying to set the fan to level 2 but not getting any response. St...

Re: Recall for OBC update

- I haven't heard any one else mention a recall. There are definitely multiple versions of the OBC firmware update. I have had 3 different versions on my car. See Charging Fault error. These don't 'fix' anything they just add some extra diagnostics. The OBC update I received before they changed my O...

Re: Setting up Torque to show BMS data

- Some German users have found a way to install torque pro onto the head unit of the car. Note the warning - https://abload.de/img/warningurjue.png Maybe the warning should have been stronger. Hacking the navigation computer does risk bricking the system. ... Now when I start the car, the multimedi...
