Re: Forgetting the charge door

I wonder if the switch/sensor that should lead to a dashboard warning doesn't need to be checked. I can't imagine they took that feature out between 2016 and 2018 models....

Re: Next Generation Soul EV will be Bigger! And for Europe only.

I sure hope that 2020 version with the 64 kWh battery is available by next September 15th when my current 2016 Soul EV's lease is due. After some cursory looks at the alternatives, we would really like to keep the overall utility and fun of the Soul. I will have a look at the Hyundai Kona however as...

Re: Next Generation Soul EV will be Bigger! And for Europe only.

I hope that "Europe only" business is a misinterpretation or something. I would like nothing better than to get a 2020 MY Kia Soul EV with a significant range boost in September of 2019 when the lease is up on our current 2016 one. Adding some more range is about the only thing I'd really ...

Re: What car will you be pursuing, or have your eye on next?

We're a couple of days short of 5 months into a three-year lease so I expect there will be several attractive options when our Soul EV's lease is done. The Tesla Model 3 is of course of interest. By then it should be real and have some kind of a track record (hopefully a good one). And by then the C...

Re: January Software Update a Good Thing?

I got this email from Kia this morning: "In case you've updated your vehicle's software and noticed limited UVO capabilities, an update that improves such capabilities has been made available on myuvo.com. This update is optional and does not affect your vehicle's support for Apple CarPlay™ or...

Re: Roll call for PacNW Soul EV owners!

Now debating whether to get a Level 2 charger. Am retired so no need for commute or any regular travel and several neighbors with Leafs use their trickle chargers. If yes I get one - then which one? Bob We got a Clipper Creek hardwired level 2 EVSE after getting by on the Level 1 for about a month....

Re: Tax treatment for lease in WA state?

It doesn't help that the state keeps changing the rules on the sales tax exemption and you might be caught in the middle of that. Something changed in July (I don't recall the specifics now) but I think they were supposed to start charging tax on the price above a certain amount. We got ours at Kia ...

Re: what other cars did you consider?

In my head, I considered a Nissan LEAF, but really once I found out there was a Soul EV and looked at the specs and how they packaged the battery and such, I went straight there. I'd had a gas Soul as a rental car for a week or so a couple of years ago so was already favorably impressed with the veh...

Re: Cargo area cover?

Well, I checked with the dealer's parts department and found that the cost of the necessary interior pieces to do what I want is on the order of $600 for the two side panels that would have to be replaced, plus the cover itself. This was done by looking up those parts for an EV+ which has them. And ...
