Re: Using the State of Charge Gauge

You're better off just using the direct % SoC reading from the car, under the EV screen. No counting, no guessing. This is what I use and I keep this screen up all the time when I drive.

Re: Brakes seized on new Soul EV after 10 months

That whaling noise from the rear when backing up is a stuck parking brake? My car has been doing that for over a year and I've been ignoring it, since it just sounded like squeaky suspension. When I bring in the car for service next time I'll have the dealer take a look at it. On the other hand, if ...

Re: 2020 Soul EV - 64kWh battery: 200+ mi

Snapped a few mores photo at the Silicon Valley Auto Show today. Nothing new, but this was my first time seeing it in person. It was the fully loaded version with heated & vented seats. I think the rear 3/4 looks fine, but front and back views are fugly. Overall, I felt that the new model was ne...

Re: 2016 Soul EV+ Battery Replacement - Remanufactured?

FWIW, mine doesn't look like to be remanufactured/refurb. 37510 E4000 PACK ASSY-BATTERY https://i.lensdump.com/i/8rehDZ.jpg I wouldn't worry too much about it. As long as you're getting 27 kWh usable, it doesn't really matter whether it's new or refurb. To be fair, the battery warranty does clearly ...

Re: New owner, 2019 Luxury with roof

Unfortunately, you can't do anything about the seat adjustability or the missing subwoofer. However, you can replace the front headlight low beam (and high beam) halogens for HIDs and they make a huge difference in both light color and brightness. I have 5000K HIDs and would never go back to the dim...

Nice, sounds like a great car, 8600 miles is really low. Enjoy!

Re: Considering turning over an old Leaf and gaining some Soul

By "here" if you mean WA, then I think you should be OK, as its a fairly mild climate. I would be more weary of cars imported from out of state like your Leaf, especially from warmer states (CA, AZ, NV, etc). Lower temperatures definitely has an effect on your GOM, as you should be pretty ...

Re: 2015 Soul EV: My Battery Replacement Story

Do you have any idea what the tested SoH % was (for 47-48 miles on GOM)? The paperwork didn't mention a specific number. Just curious.
Anyways, glad that saga is over. Enjoy your "new" car!

Re: Soul EV 30 kWh (27kWh usable) DCFC rate/graphs

It's interesting that I was able to charge at a higher power (47.8kW) than them (40kW). Were they using a 100A DCFC station? It's hard to say because they didn't collect voltage and current data. There's a new 200A/80kW DCFC station opening soon nearby. I'm looking forward to testing the Soul EV on ...

Re: 2015 Soul EV: My Battery Replacement Story

My guess is that KIA has a corporate discount with the rental car agency, so it's probably costing them not much per day. Probably cheaper than having shipping a bunch of $16k batteries from SK to US and having them get baked sitting around in a warehouse somewhere.
