Re: Infotainment screen really hot?

Take it in to get it checked out, that's not normal. My screen is a similar temperature to the rest of the dash.

Re: Soul Spy?

To install, go into the Google play store and look for "Soul EV Spy" by EVRanger.com It doesn't matter that your phone connects to your car by Bluetooth for calls and such, it can also be connected to the dongle. First of all plug in the dongle and then go to your phone Bluetooth settings ...

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

Mechanics will have a battery load testing tool that gives a readout of the 12V battery's state. In the U.S. AutoZone and in Canada Partsource will test the battery for free.
I would get a battery test done rather than just buying a new one based on age.

Re: 2016 Kia soul EV charging upgrade

Re: Soul Spy?

I agree with the others about the price point I think $9.99 is going to be more popular than $15. I think SOH is the essential info. If you were to offer that on the free version (maybe with max/min det and cell numbers( and on the paid version let people drill down in to the individual cell map and...

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

The problem with an EV is that there isn't any indication that the 12V battery is about to fail. On an ICE car you will hear it get slower on the starter motor when the 12V battery is getting weak. On an EV the 12V battery only needs to have enough power to turn on the main relay and then the car is...

Re: 12V Battery Replacement ?

I would not buy a replacement online, too many problems with shipping both weight and regulations about shipping battery acid.

I bought my replacement from a local store that specializes in batteries, but any normal auto parts store should be able to help.

Re: Kia Wireless Qi Charger Accessory Questions

The amount of power in an EV makes the efficiency argument moot. It's orders of magnitude less than what is going on with the motor, and any slight inefficiencies in the drivetrain will completely drown out any cell phone charging, wireless or wired.

If they can't break the threadlock with a more sturdy tool then they would just drill out the bolt.

Re: Setting up Torque to show BMS data

No, it's during the charging that the BMS recalculates the battery health
