Re: Anyone bought a Kia Soul EV?

Just to add to the accepted wisdom - lease not buy. I recently saw a nissan leaf post where the driver bought his 3 year old leased car for 8000usd. Total cost 18000usd. Unless you can get a discount greater than this (currently not possible!) then you always get a better deal leasing. I live on Jej...

Re: Comparison Of Fuel Economy for Battery Electric Vehicles

I get the same result - using the following math. Is this how you got your result? Usable battery capacity = 27.5 kWh = 27500 Wh Average used per mile = 264 Wh Average range = 27500/264 = 104 miles = 167 kilometers. This seems quite good to me because the cars are being tested in Phoenix Arizona. Th...

Re: Misc Questions about the Soul EV

What about the mi/kWh shown on the Eco Level screen? The manual doesn't explain anything about how that is calculated or how to reset it. Is it the same as the other display of mi/kWh? Thanks! . The mi/kWh shown on the Eco Level screen is the average value since you last reset. I was slightly wrong...

Re: Day time running lights

In a misguided effort to reduce battery load, Kia decided to forego DRL's on EV's, although they are probably present on EV's sold in Canada. The LED array above each headlight serve as 'Parking' lights, and would do a fine job as DRL's. Can't believe that running these LED's would have a noticeabl...

Re: Misc Questions about the Soul EV

If you start the car, pull it out of the driveway, and shut it off, the next time you start the car that "trip" will have been recorded. In my experience it records everything. The way it calculates the efficiency is very screwy in that it's based on the mi/kWh in the instrument cluster s...

Re: Going on Vacation

Just had a look at the Service Manual. It states you will lose Eco Level, Clock and Radio Presets when you disconnect the 12V battery. The clock on my car was working fine when I reconnected after a month. My best guess is that the clock is reset via the network at bootup if UVO has been setup. This...

Re: Loading Music onto the Car

I decided to try loading music onto the car. Yes, it seems you have to load one track at a time and everything goes into the root folder. MyMusic works fine. But I had to spend a while working out how to get back to Bluetooth. Fiddling with buttons helped me find two features I had not seen before. ...

Re: Loading Music onto the Car

My 2015 has 667MB available for music/images and 430MB available for downloaded apps.
I have none of either.
I play music using bluetooth audio.

Re: Going on Vacation

Re-connected the 12V and started the car again today. (4 weeks unused)
The main battery had exactly the same charge as I left.
The only item in the computer reset was the Eco Level.
History, Address Book ... was all still there.
