Re: Soul Spy?

So I'm guessing this is were it will stay at. It's a bit lower than when I got the car and I'm not really sure why it is stuck there. Well, it turns out it wasn't stuck at all. I recently drove the car long enough again to get below 18% and now SoulSpy reports 108,3% SoH. The GOM says 154km range (...

Have you asked a dealer to make a SoH report about your battery?

Re: 2015 Soul EV: Out of State Battery Replacement

There is a new formula, you can find it here https://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=135&p=9615#p9610 It's a bit more complicated but a quick calculation is 110 minus the max deterioration. Then you'd get 96% SOH. If you follow the formula (and I didn't make any mistakes) it's ...

Re: Battery Ageing Model

Once a cell deteriorates, its voltage jumps while charging. The car BMS avoids overcharging the cell, so it stops the charging once it is over a certain limit. This is to protect the cell from more damage. I understand that 1 cell can make an entire battery-pack useless. But what I don't understand...

Re: Battery Ageing Model

- Really sudden degradation. In the same 3 month period my original car has not degraded at all. The rate of deterioration seems to be accelerating in the last week, even though the weather is cooler and I'm driving slower. But I do need to charge more often. I hope you get your replacement soon! I...

BMS software Battery Management System, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_management_system OBD dongle On-board Diagnotiscs, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On-board_diagnostics Can one simply request a statement of health from a dealer? You can do that, they have equipment to read this. ...

It's about 29A actually. Your Soul will certainly charge that fast when it's gets connected to a charging station that can provide that power. Only when the battery is nearly full it will use less power.

Re: Battery Ageing Model

I already did, it shows 69% ! But I am using the Soul Spy Lite, the free version. Is this figure reliable ?! Yes, it is the best that we know of right now. You're right in the edge of the warranty so it might be that Kia will read 70%. The reading we know of is not exactly the same as Kia reads it....

I don't think it does, but as far as I know it never really does. Even when my car had a bad battery it would still show it was charged to 4.10V.

Why don't you take a look at the SOH?

Re: Using "trickle" charger on a NEMA 6-50 plug

They had a 2016 Soul EV, which makes me wonder if for some reason Kia changed the included portable charger for the 2019 model years with a more basic one, to cut costs. You could open the charger and at least see if they still use a power supply that can handle 240V too. Rereading the threads the ...
