Just had a call from my dealer saying that there's a recall for an OBC firmware update on my 2016.

This is a little odd because they already did the OBC firmware update a while ago when it was just a service campaign. Given that when they did the firmware update they made mistakes in telling me I needed a new OBC, ordering a new one and then telling me that it wasn't being replaced after all - and having the car for the entire day to sort that out - I'm not exactly confident in their abilities. Also checking Kia Canada's website for my VIN shows no pending recalls.

Is this just my dealer messing up? Or is there really a new OBC firmware update?

I haven't heard any one else mention a recall.
There are definitely multiple versions of the OBC firmware update.
I have had 3 different versions on my car. See Charging Fault error.

These don't 'fix' anything they just add some extra diagnostics.

The OBC update I received before they changed my OBC is called Service Action 306 in the US (or SA170069 elsewhere)
