Is the Shadow Black Kia Soul hot in summer?

I'm considering purchasing a Shadow Black Kia Soul EV and wonder if, when parked outside in the California summer, it will get really hot inside. or do the tinted windows prevent this? I don't want to waste battery juice cooling the car. other choice would be Caribbean Blue...does anyone have experience with this ?

I don't have experience with owning a black Kia Soul, but both NPR's Car Talk and the MythBusters TV show studied this years ago, and they determined black cars did heat up more than white cars, by about 10 degrees. http://community.cartalk.com/discussion/2141572/black-car-vs-white-car

I was shopping for a soul ev this month (November) at the Novato, CA dealer. There was a gray and a white Soul next to each other in the parking lot. It was a sunny day but somewhat cool. I placed my hand on the roof of the gray car and could not leave it there as it was too hot. The white car roof was much cooler and not uncomfortable.

I can't say what the inside temp was but it is hard to imagine it was not a lot hotter. I went with white.
