Multimedia system Versions and Updates ?

I wonder about software updates my the car's MM system (seems slow to me). My Soul EV+ was purchased in Feb'15 (Cerritos, Calif.) and has Settings/ (MM?) System Info, on the MM screen, as follows;
S/W ver. : ST.PSEV.USA. E447.140904 .
And also four more lines of version numbers for ; Firmware, Device ID, Navi App, and Map .

Also, I think I have AVN ver. 4.

So, I'm curious if I have current S/W, and if not, how to get updates.

It all gets updated as part of the map update. You have to buy the map updates from www.mapnsoft.com and they are hideously expensive.

Yes, new memory card updates everything. Took about an hour.
I negotiated mine into the price of the car.
Actually, when I bought the car, the salesman said it came with OTA updates. Once I found out it didn't I bitched for 2 months and finally got them to give the latest maps to me.

One note, upgrading to Maps ver9.5 makes your car display 8.47.......
I can't find my pics to attach, but the version number in your car is one digit behind what is listed as the Maps version.

Thanks for all the good info. And the update on the SD card not only updates the roads (road changes not a big value to me in L.A. driving) but changes/improves some of the screen formats and voice recognition (appeals to me).

So, I have what is called the Map Ver. 8 (07.47...), and the current update is Ver. 9.5 (08.47...).

Ver. 9.5 for sale in the U.S. at $89 ($139 less $50) until May 31. Map Ver. 10 will be released Jun-1.

BTW, Canadian update is priced at $139 less $100 ($39 USD).

I'm tempted to wait for the Ver.10 update (at $139 ?).

Have a look at this Alex on Autos YouTube video to see what the latest navigation system looks like. Hyundai BlueLink is the same as Kia UVO. I have seen this version of the software on an Ioniq EV. This version hasn't yet been released by Kia. If this is what Kia is about to release as the new map software then it is worth waiting for.

hopefully there will be improvements - not just map updates in the new version - the date for release has apparently now slipped to late June. For EV customers - the map updates are more critical - our area is constantly adding stations - and it's rather annoying that we pay for them. I can understand a charge for the upgrades to the rest of the media system (one can hope for support for additional file types) though our Mazda offers both for free. My "old fashioned" GPS has free lifetime map updates...

According to this, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are coming with version 10.

This is 2016, why can't I just dl a file and do it myself?

I have CarPlay in my Camry. Not sure it's worth the $$. I really like the Kia's split screen so I can see maps and music at the same time.

Android Auto is confirmed. Car Play is delayed until version 10.5

I called Kia and they said the upgrade will be available without map updates in coming months.

I ordered it and have one on the way in the mail.

Yes, $40 for a SD card and $200 for a map on a car that isn't even a year old isn't going to happen just on the principle of the thing. Let me know when KIA decides to wake up to 2016 and just send an update to everybody over wifi or data. If they want to provide brand loyalty in this day and age that's what they have to do, otherwise TESLA here I come when my lease is up.

I checked out buying Map 10 online for my '15 EV+. Should be a download. And why charge $40 for a 16-GB SD card ($9 retail) ?? Then $9 for minimum shipping (mailing a SD card?). Then tax on all that ?

I have to agree, I have been a loyal KIA owner now for many years and own the flagship, K900, as well as the Soul EV. I am very upset with their penny pinching with the upgrades on both cars. Really $40 for the SD card, If you are going to charge for the card give the option to have it installed at the dealer or download. I will pay for upgrades but then I want the latest and the best, not that what I want will be in the next upgrade.

As MacGuffin I feel the same. KIA/Hyundai, Fix this or you will lose another loyal KIA owner to TESLA.

But I already contacted my dealer. I told him I want the most current version. But I would like to know what version I am running? It's just more ammo for me in case he cries.
