In Germany someone has made EVNotify for the Hyundai IONIQ. Possible also something working for the Kia Soul EV.

The idea behind EVNotify
Originally this application was developed to have a possibility to remotely see the charging state for the Hyundai IONIQ, which isn't possible in Europe due to missing BlueLink connection. Then I decided to enhance it so you'll get notified when the desired state of charge has been achieved. Also I want to support more cars in the future.

Yes, this is a very interesting project. And it is being actively developed.
He used the torque pro code from the github repo to find the SOC, so obviously this program will also work with the Soul EV.
It uses an OBD reader and android phone in the car exactly similar to the hardware we use.
The phone uses an Internet connection to message via the Telegram app.
This allows the data to be read from anywhere on a second phone.

Equally obvious is the fact that OVMS will work with the I oniq Electric, but no one is currently developing this for our cars.
It is still being upgraded from v2 hardware to v3 for the Twizy and Zoe.

I really like both projects. Both are completely open source and free.
The big advantage for EVNotify is that we can use our existing cheap hardware.
I also much prefer the idea of Telegram messaging to using SMS messages.
The big advantage for OVMS is that its dedicated hardware is far more powerful and capable than a ELM327 Bluetooth adapter.

The latest EVNotify working app is working well. It now works for Android 4.1 and above.
I am currently charging.
An old tablet is in the car.
I am receiving the soc here in the house via telegram.
