Hey,

I have been looking for an install guide but I could not find one. So here is the process that I used to get HID's on my 2016 Soul EV+. Ask your questions and I will try to answer them!

Parts:
1 x 35W 6000K H7 HID kit: https://amzn.com/B004ZF31PC
1 x Anti Flicker Kit: https://amzn.com/B00HTOB0NG
1 x H7 bulb holders: https://amzn.com/B00BLZ98HE
1 x Dust covers: https://amzn.com/B01I0TDO28
Velcro

Tools:
10 and 12 mm sockets
Dremel tool or sand paper

Process:
1) Start by removing the 3 bolts that hold the headlight in. Remove the headlight assembly for easy access. I could not get my hand behind the headlights to do the process without taking out the headlight

2) Remove headlight, dust cover, and factory H7 bulb

3) To get the new HID lights to project correctly you will need to turn the bulb to the 6 o'clock position, this will require you to remove the bulb holders grooves so you can turn the bulb to the 6 o'clock position. I used a Dremel with the sand paper attachment to get rid of them.

See where I sanded away the bulb grooves and the bulb can go to the 6 o'clock position

4) Run the light wires through the dust cover and connect to the HID ballast. If you dont know how to wire HID lights watch this video https://youtu.be/-2KZ2fExILU

5) Mount the ballast and anti flicker to the car using velcro:

6) Put everything back together and enjoy the new lights!

Pro Tip: If you wire everything up correctly and your new HID does not turn on, reverse this connection

Thank you. I have just completed an HID upgrade of the fog lights. Wanted to do them first to see the power usage. Next to do the headlights.

How are the HID lights holding up?

Thx for the great info, just finished an LED upgrade:

Used Hiakari H7 “eye of megatron” bulbs ($80) amazon

Need dust cover and the bulb adaptor. The ones listed on the original post are no longer offered, but there are many like them.

I got

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Q9D52Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077B5NXPY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

About $100 total.

Install wan’t hard, just got to pull the headlight units out. Follow the instructions on this post and you’ll be fine.
(Remember to unplug the light unit, before pulling it from the car)

Will check back in to see how it holds up. Right now it’s about 300% brighter!

Thanks for the info. I am thinking of doing the same LED that Goofcat did
A couple of questions??

Are you still happy with them?
Do they use less energy?
Did you use resistors?

Loving my LEDs wondering how I lived so long without them.

Did not measure if it uses more energy.

Just used what came with the LED bulb kit, did not add resistors

Just replaced the headlights in daughter's 2016 Soul EV + with LEDs. I tried removing the headlight assembly but couldn't get it right, so I just did it in situ. It took a while not having pictures to help and I probably made every mistake twice (both sides!) but finally got it to work. It isn't bi-xenon with active curve illumination, but definitely think it is worthwhile.
