Here's a couple more photos of the autonomous car being tested in Nevada.
Does anyone here have this color scheme?

Lots more detail about the autonomous Soul EV from the Busan Motor Show.

Buttons on the right of the steering wheel for HAD(Highway Autonomous Driving), PVF(Preceding Vehicle Following), UAD(Urban Autonomous Driving), and TJA(Traffic Jam Assist. These buttons were not present in the autonomous Ioniq EV I sat in while it drove in March.

The autonomous driving functionality of these test Soul EVs is the same as that advertised by Kia in their VR experience demo. I didn't think to look at the buttons in front of me while enjoying this simulator. see http://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=538

Also worth comparing is the Automatic Parking Assistant talked about before - http://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=411

Here's the latest youtube video of the autonomous Soul EV.

The YouTube video I posted a couple of days ago is in the news a lot here. It just got over 1,000,000 views.
I wonder if it will increase interest in the Soul EV.

To coincide with the Tesla press release about Autopilot 2, there are lots of news articles in the last few days about Kia Drivewise. Almost all is rehashed from the Valet Parking (AVP) video in August.

This one has something new to say. - http://www.naeil.com/news_view/?id_art=213833

The article discusses SLAM, Simultaneous Localization And Mapping. Hyundai has realized that to properly map underground parking garages it needs to get the data from user's cars. Apartment parking garages here normally have a barrier, only residents are allowed in, so the commercial mapping companies have no access to this data. Hence before they can start services such as AVP Hyundai needs to equip cars with sensors and a connection interface so that Hyundai can build up a database from its own user-base. I think Tesla came up with this idea a few years ago. I wonder why it took Hyundai so long, and when they are actually going to start.

According to this, Kia Drive Wise will be introduce in summer 2017.

You can see somes informations of periphericals thaht they will be introduce slowly in the main car on Kia product : http://pr.kia.com/ko/wow/drive-wise/about-drive-wise.do

So Kia anticipates that 2019/2020 will mark an enormous turning point in the technology they offer in their cars -- in effect, reflecting an enormous turning point in how consumers select and user their automobiles. Wild to think that this begins only two or three model years from now.

This is absolutely awesome
An interesting and ambiguous comment. If you refer to the timing of the PR blitz, then no I assume it is normal to put out news when it will garner most interest, or in this case deflect from what a competitor is doing.

The details on the Kia Drivewise sensors however is awesome. Well the Lidar part is.

Those 4 comments in the image above refer to (from L to R)

1/ Camera for parking assistance.

2/ LIDAR ($20,000 USD), this one won't be in our cars next year!

3/ Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor.

4/ Camera for LKAS, one on each side mirror.

Here's that car driving at a sports game in Korea.

Good point for the LIDAR ... it's cheap now.

Hyundai has marketed a concept autonomous I oniq EV at the LA autoshow. This seems to be leapfrog ahead of the previous demonstrations built onto the Kia Soul EV shown just above.

I will discuss the details on the I oniq Forum - http://myioniq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=73&p=750#p750

I took a screenshot from the VR movie where you can see the forward camera next to the charging port door. This camera is really hard to see clearly on the black cars. see Kia VR experience in self-driving Soul EV hatchback
