Re: recommended obd2 adapter?

Hi everyone,

I purchased on Ebay, and have just received my Konnwei 902 OBD2 adapter.

Here's the link to the item in question: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/ELM327-Bluetoot ... 2749.l2649

I performed the resistance check to be sure I had a good unit, and it read 120 ohms. So far so good.

Plugged it into my 2016 Soul EV, started the car, then the Soulspy app, and everything worked perfectly. State of health is listed at 94,4% Yay!

I'm glad with my purchase. I hope this can help anyone looking to purchase a compatible adapter.

I've had this adapter since 2012. Do you think it will work or do I need to buy a Konnwei?

Here's the ELM327 Identifier output:

It's going to be a guess. I have one the same shape with a different label that does work.
Best thing to do is just try it.

That's about what I figured. I was just hoping with the info from ELM327 Identifier that someone could tell me if they thought it would be a definite no-go. I don't want to spend money if I don't need to, but I'd like to have a usable adapter ready to go when I pick up my car sometime within the next week.

Information from the ELM327 Identifier says it should be good i.e. it supports the 1.x protocols and not the 2.x protocols.

The problem then comes of if it can pass enough data through without dropping bits of it, mine will work with Soul Spy and Torque but not if I try to connect to the bus and dump all traffic manually.

Thanks! I was thinking it should be good from the results. I've used it with Torque, Dash, and a few other apps without issue over the years on other vehicles. I've never attempted to manually dump the data. I'll get Soul Spy on my phone ready to go for when I pickup the car and hope for the best.
