I'll post back when I have more info. At least I didn't leave the house yet.

That's a good sign. Fingers crossed.

Re: Accelerating as much as possible as often as possible ok?

Yep, the 10-60 km/h time is more important than 0-60 mph any day. :)

Re: Trying to implement EV battery claim

That is critical advice (test the battery BEFORE updating the firmware). I went through the same process last summer with my Soul, though it started out with a road-side assistance call for a front seal leak, once they had the car transported from Alberta to the closest dealership in Vernon, BC I sp...

Re: No Proof of Maintenance

What maintenance would you have expected? I have a car at the end of the 3 yr lease and I've not once done maintenance. No oil to change, no transmission to check, no engine air filter to change, even brakes are not used much with regen. You mentioned checking fluids, the only fluids needing to be ...

Re: Has anyone replaced their 12V battery with lithium?

How long is the stock 12v likely to last? It's commonly said that 3-5 years is typical for 12v batteries in cars, but the #1 stressor is being used as a starter battery in an ICE car. Perhaps it'll last even longer in an e-car? The main killer of lead acid batteries is draining them below 50% capac...

EVDee wrote:Sounds silly but, have you or they checked the 12V battery? Often issues like this whether EV or Hybrid, that's the problem.

Yes, this would be the first thing to check.

Re: Soul EV Spy Questions and Answers

I'll let others more knowledgeable than I answer the technical details around calculating the SOH, but the fact that all the cells balance out during driving is a good sign I think. When my battery was failing there was a set of cells that were always quite far out of range vs the rest of the pack, ...

Re: Soul EV Spy Questions and Answers

Hi - I bought a 2018 30Kwh Soul back in November with 14k (miles) on the clock. Been loving the experience (last car Merc ML500!!). Been a little concerned as over the winter the GOM gas dropped from 120 to 94 miles. During this time the temperature has dropped to around 0'C, I've started doing 2 x...

Re: Does charging only to 80% really make a difference?

Basically, the ideal charging pattern strictly for the longest possible battery lifespan is 40-60%. Battery degradation increases non-linearly as you use the battery outside of that range, with the low and high extremes being the most harmful, and a much more gradual/small effect as you extend to 30...

Re: Inaccurate energy consumption calcs on trip computer???

In theory it should trip after 3 hours. In practice it almost certainly will not. The breaker is measuring the current, it can't tell how hot any of the rest of the parts of the circuit is getting, If you have a brand new good quality socket with good contacts and good connections to it, you'll pro...
