Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

That is simply amazing to me.

I had my battery replaced almost two years ago and my range is rarely much more than 100km on a full charge (2016).
Granted, I'm often driving on the highway at 115km/h, but I've never enjoyed the so called 150km+ range that others have frequently mentioned.

Re: Help! Fully charged car dies on highway.

Could be your 12v battery under the hood is failing. Sudden lose of 12v voltage would probably result in what you're seeing.

I agree, take it to KIA and get it checked out.

Re: Upgrading the radio/navigation unit

I just use Apple CarPlay on mine, you get the full iOS experience as fast as your phone can run it.

I believe Android Auto is also supported, but I'm not familiar with it.

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

What is the spread of cell-pair voltages? Here is a sampling of cell voltages taken today, the first two when the car was started after 30mins scheduled preheat cycle (it is -43c with windchill outside here today, approx. -8c in the garage), and the next two after running a few errands around town,...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

Those are some truly impressive numbers. :) FYI. My battery was replaced (well, the cell packs were swapped out) last August. Since then I've only put on approx. 6,000km of mileage, usually charging using Type 1 to 80% max. Last night I did an uninterrupted charge from 7% to 100% to reset the SOH, ...

Re: 2016 Soul EV+ ... is my battery eligible for replacement?

My 2016 EV+ blew a seal on the left drive axle at the gear box, and left about 1l of oil on my garage floor (all it holds). If you can get your phone camera under the front of the vehicle you should be able to see if there is oil around the sides of the gearbox (in the middle, under the 'motor stack...

Re: Limiting the charge to 80% - Level 2 Charger?

I think it was to do with how the range was rated - because it had both 80% and 100% charge, the range counted as the average of the two rather than just the 100% charge. The whole thing is quite stupid. Makes zero sense. How is Tesla (and other EV manufacturers) able to keep their adjustable charg...

Re: Limiting the charge to 80% - Level 2 Charger?

My 2016 has a setting you can enable when using the scheduled charge times to limit it to 80% (or 100%, nothing in between). Wouldn't that work for you? I just keep 2 charge schedules on mine, one starts at 7:30pm everyday and the other is midnight (in case I get home late) and they both charge to 8...
