Good Catch Jeju- not all noobs are neural nets, but at least most neural nets are still noobs! How have these second batteries held up? ... This looks a ChatGPT comment. Maybe the first Spam using AI filler I have seen. Paleyrenk - please reply if this isn't spam and explain what the link at ...

Re: Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

I had the recall done on my 2016 last week. As the battery was replaced under warranty a year ago in the same service dept., you'd think they might know better, but the first scheduled visit was a failure- "We have to order new BMS hardware, can't reprogram your 2016." I went back a week l...

Re: 2015 soul (ev) display unit - infotainment

Fortunately or not, the glitchy screen only happened once or twice and has not reappeared, so no chance of a warranty claim on a fault that can't be demonstrated. Also, I found the following disclaimer in the warranty section of our manual. "An original equipment radio or navigation system is c...

Re: 2015 soul (ev) display unit - infotainment

Found this thread because my display just started glitching (hottest interior temperature day for the car yet this year). I'm thinking that because the display screen is the only way to manage charging sessions, it should be covered under the 10 year/100,000 mile "EV SYSTEM" warranty. Anyb...

Re: Battery Backorder? Since Nov '21

Greetings Jdohe and jluigi, I tried different pitches around a cash or credit allowance in lieu of a loaner/rental car, but EVeryone I dealt with behaved like a corporate drone without decision-making authority. I didn't seek a buyback of the '16 SOUL, as owning a 30 kWH car debt-free at no addition...

Re: Check electric vehicle system warning

The codes not being stored could be a clue. With the right tool the dealer should be able to read both the stored codes and the "pending" codes. There are faults that need to be triggered multiple times before the code and error light will actually be displayed. This is to eliminate 'nuisa...

Re: Check electric vehicle system warning

That's just a general warning, but pulling the Diagnostic Trouble Codes along with listing any past DTCs and what's already been replaced should give more of a clue. Also plz record your 12V actual voltage when that happens.

Re: Battery Backorder? Since Nov '21

My SOUL has been restored! After only a test drive, received car at 83% SOC and 107 mi RR. Will exercise over the next few daze and see how it sorts out, and take some SoulSPY readings. Dealer invoice to KIA Corporate was about $25k total, with approx $14,500 worth of battery. They quoted a $2500 co...

Re: Battery Backorder? Since Nov '21

Good news; Corporate says that my battery shipped this week! No updates from Puyallup KIA though. A word on getting a Niro EV. When I turned in the SOUL for a loaner car, they of course wanted to gimme an econobox, but I negotiated up to a Grand Cherokee, since no EVs were available. That beast retu...

Re: 2017 Soul battery degradation story

Calaveras, glad to hear that you’re getting a warranty replacement, but please charge the replacement daily. Driving 92 miles per charge cycle was a recipe for maximum degradation. These batteries should serve best when cycled between 20% and 80% SOC, or charging up to about 72 miles and not dischar...
