Re: Can't find certified Soul Ev. 5 mile commute make it unnecessary?

It sounds to me that the dealer thinks the car has a KIA warranty, but he does not want to be liable if it turns out that KIA would refuse a claim. The Soul EV android app does not offer any data on whether a warranty-voiding event has occurred. It may be different in your country, but here, if the ...

Re: Can't find certified Soul Ev. 5 mile commute make it unnecessary?

I would be very wary if the dealer is saying no warranty - he must know something which would make KIA rule it out - maybe it's been used as a hire car or taxi, or something like that. Not sure I'd go for a VW - out of the frying pan and into the fire. I would keep looking for a better Soul EV.

Interesting that it's 65% for vehicles shipped after 1 August 2019, i.e. 64 kWh models.

ABRP is a route planner. There does not appear to be anything helpful to configure Torque.

Re: Can't release EPB (parking brake) when car shuts down at 0%SOC

There's nothing in the Service Manual about manual release, but it is worth reading the EPB section on how it works, as it explains the way it controls application as an emergency brake (it doesn't just bang on full pressure). Also, you can release the brake with the hand control provided the "...

Re: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427

As "early adopters" I suppose we have to tolerant of the manufacturers need to gather data on reliability issues. I expect they want your DC-DC Converter back in the lab to find out what that issue is, and eliminate it as a potential confusion factor when eventually addressing the heat pum...

It would be interesting to know in which part of the US you live, as ambient temperatures are said to have a big influence.

Re: No Proof of Maintenance

In the UK, the maintenance is scheduled annually. It is all pretty simple, as you said, but I think most owners go along with taking it to the dealer, and regard it as insurance (or protection) to maintain their warranty. It isn't cheap for what it is, but KIA have to keep the dealers happy - they d...

Re: Charging cable not released

That’s a much more analogue solution than I was anticipating. I know what you mean, but I could hear a click when I operated the release button, so I knew the electrical side was working, and the hitch had to be mechanical. Unfortunately, in your case, the sound of the lock releasing would be maske...

Re: Charging cable not released

My guess would be to apply some lubricant to the mechanism - silicone grease or spray. That's what I did to my charging door release, and its been fine ever since.
