Re: Has anyone replaced their 12V battery with lithium?

Does the ReLiOn have the ability to "jump" the car? By which I mean, have a bottom buffer that you can activate in an emergency? Haven't seen that anywhere, but they are marketing Li Ion batteries for gasoline cars now, and claim they can support very high cranking currents. e.g EBay link

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

-... As you can see this does not fool the GOM into giving you an absurd range. Maybe if I had cleared the Navi computer as well? I can't prove it, but I think the BMS computation of the GOM is completely separate to the energy consumption computation, and independent of it. So I don't think there ...

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

The triangle button may be used to reset the Energy Consumption Display (Page 4/61 and 62 of the Owners Manual).

The GOM (KIA name is Distance to Empty) (Page 4/64) is not affected by the triangle button.

Re: Cells in HV battery

My understanding is that the 192 cells (96 cell-pairs) relates to the 27 kWh battery, whereas the 30 kWh battery has 200 cells (100 cell-pairs). That suggests that the 30 kWH battery has four 11-cell-pair modules, rather than 10-cell-pair modules.

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

The only way I know for the GOM to be reset is by an update being applied to the BMS, and that resets the GOM to its default value. The BSI then "re-learns" and slowly moves down to what one might term the "correct" value. The fact that you see a lower value than the car's nomina...

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

Purely by my own observations, the value of M/kWh used by the GOM is not the same as the that displayed on the dash. If you have not reset that latter for quite a long time, it will reflect a longer timebase than used by the GOM, and if you have recently reset it, the GOM timebase will be longer tha...

Re: Mileage Variation with Full Charge

The value you read on the GOM (GuessOMeter) is an estimate, based on the ambient temperature, and the actual performance of the car (miles per kWh) over a period of time. The performance is worse in cold weather, better in mild weather, It also depends on whether you use the heating and/or aircon, a...

Re: Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

KIA are probably being coy about documenting their foul-ups, and will not come clean in writing. Has the dealer refused to perform the Service Action?

Re: Everything dead after “stop vehicle check brakes” warning

Yes, the auxiliary battery will be charged during the charging of the propulsion battery, but it sounds like the aux is on it's last legs if it died after only 10 minutes of running the aircon. I would have it tested with a view to replacement if necessary. As you have to leave the vehicle with the ...

I did notice that it was reporting actual charge level of 95% when fully charged, I wonder if the latest BMS versions allow it to use more of the actual total battery capacity?

Is that charge level the SOC on the dashboard, or a value from SoulEV Spy?
