Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

With my 30kWh model, the current version of the Soul EVSpy paid-for app gets the SOH from the BMS, rather than calculating it from Max Det and Min Det like Torque does. If the 5722 firmware is similar, it may be worth upgrading to the paid-for version to be able to read the value from the BMS. I'm n...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

Assuming the remanufactured battery has the same cells as the non-R battery, I would expect the performance to be the same. If you have not done much distance yet, the BMS is presumably heavily biased to default value. It will be interesting to see how the GOM changes with use.

Re: Battery degradation question

The displayed range is an estimate based on historic data for the car (which includes the way the car was driven, the prevailing temperature, and use of aircon/heating), hence Guess-O-Meter (GOM). (93 -> 70) implies a battery State of Health (SOH) of around 75%, but this is a very rough yardstick. I...

Re: Range for Fully Charged(?) 2017 Soul

One possible explanation is that the GOM estimate is based on previously achieved mileages, which will be low if they are generated in colder weather. Now that it is warmer, they will be improved, but the GOM algorithm may still retain some bias from the winter memory, which will slowly be overcome ...

Re: Using Level 1 Charger Outdoors

Perhaps you should put a lockable cupboard on the wall where the outlet is (cut a hole in the back for it). Then the charger could be locked in the cupboard and be protected from the weather as well as thieves and vandals.

Re: Kia Battery Replacement Frustrations [HELP/ADVICE]?

I have seen 5 mentioned, but you only need to do them until you can read below 70% SOH with the Soul EV Spy app. My guess is, with the battery so poor, three should do it. I think the dealers actions are a cynical delaying tactic, despite the fact that KIA has instructed the dealers to read the SOH ...

Re: 3rd Party Software to control Chargepoint charger?

I somewhat doubt that the charging interface carries the data from the car to tell the charger what %age charge has been reached - unless you know otherwise?
