Re: 2017 Soul battery degradation story

Whichever dealer you go to, make a copy of this and ensure they understand they must take a record of the BMS data BEFORE doing anything else. If they still don't understand, tell them that the SOH is a measure of the capacity of the battery, and the SOC is how much of that capacity is currently in ...

Re: IMHO Lease and NEVER buy

Just to reinforce that, my built-in-2017, supplied-in-2018 30kWh model has covered over 35,000 miles (56,000 km) and is still over 100% SOH, i.e. over 30 kWh. In Winter, the GOM says 120 (192), in Summer 145 (232) or a bit more. I always drive in B mode. The new-technology battery cells make all the...

Re: 20k km and no SOH reading yet

Yes, it would, as it is just expressing the actual battery capacity as a percentage of the nominal capacity, whatever that is. I have edited the original post to cover that point. On a separate issue raised by your usage, it is frequently stated that a 100% charge should be occasionally be performed...

Did they tell you what SOH their test equipment reported?

Re: Rolling Up Level 1 Charger Cord When Not Using

I find it easy to do by treating it as a rope, and coiling it in my right hand, using the left hand to slide down the uncoiled length to a full arm stretch (less if you want a smaller coil) and then bringing it to the right hand. To avoid dragging it on the ground, just walk slowly forward towards t...

Re: Charger door issues

I don't know if my experience on a 2017 SoulEV is relevant to you, but I had a similar problem with my charging door. I sprayed the release mechanism and hinges with aerosol grease, and then sprayed with WD40. The WD40 contains a solvent which dissolves the grease, and makes the resulting fluid flow...

Re: 20k km and no SOH reading yet

If you are in this situation, it is possible to calculate the SOH. After charging, reset the m/kWh (shows "--" when reset). Note the mileage and the battery %age if not 100%. At the next charge note the mileage and the battery %age before charging commences and note the m/kWh. Divide the d...

Re: Battery SoH 18%?

On the face of it, it doesn't look good, but it is possible that the displayed values are misleading because of lack of regular use. An important consideration is where the vehicle has been used. The 27 kWh batteries have suffered greatly in hot climates. What needs to be done is to run the battery ...
