Re: 20k km and no SOH reading yet

If you are in this situation, it is possible to calculate the SOH. After charging, reset the m/kWh (shows "--" when reset). Note the mileage and the battery %age if not 100%. At the next charge note the mileage and the battery %age before charging commences and note the m/kWh. Divide the ...

Re: Rolling Up Level 1 Charger Cord When Not Using

Can anyone recommend anything to make this easier than wrapping it manually? I was thinking of maybe using a garden hose reel, substituting the charging cord instead of a hose. Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations? You might consider using large velcro straps to help you bind it once you've coiled ...

Re: Should you use Winter Mode in mild winters?

I don't think you need to worry about "wear and tear" of the battery heating system. I'd prefer the batteries be kept at safer temps by it than not, when necessary. Having said that, in your climate, I doubt the winter mode feature would ever actually kick in even when enabled due to the ...

Re: Am I charging too often

I'm glad you're having such good results. Are you usually charging to 100% shortly before using it again? If so, that significantly mitigates the disadvantages of charging to full. Charging to full increases the rate at which the lithium plates on the anode (which is bad), but being there for 8 minu...

Re: Level 1 vs level 2 charging

Thanks to all. I just found an article on the Clipper Creek site that says that level 2 charging is almost 5% more efficient, perhaps for the reasons that notfred mentions. That is probably why Kia recommends it. Additional advantages to level 2 include the fact that, while level 1 heats the batter...

47Km or 47k km? If 47Km, then that's... not a lot of mileage!

I saw this update on the Kia/Hyundai (formerly Brantford Kia) channel on YouTube, and have been planning to avoid upgrading to it ever since, for the reasons you cited! Hopefully you've been able to downgrade.

- In Korea the SIM card is SK Telecom. In USA the SIM card is Verizon. Can someone confirm what network is used in Canada. In Europe existing cars do not have a SIM card. 20k km and no SOH reading yet

In another part of this forum, it was stated: Biggest factor at play: you need the battery to recalibrate itself vs giving you old & outdated data. Basically: - the temperature outside needs to be above 10C - the battery needs to be fully charged then discharged to 10-15% - then the battery need...

Is the EV4 the new Kia Soul EV?

After the Kia EV6 launch, the internet brain trust is expecting a larger car (the EV7) and a smaller car (the EV4) to be the next two released. The EV4 is looking to be a mix of the Soul EV and the Kia Seltos. It's been seen in shadowed profile in official Kia photos, and it's been seen in spy photo...
