Re: Should we buy this 2016 for $11K (US) ?

- It's not your car, but a similar one in the Bay Area. This car was the very first on this forum to show battery problems. 27,000 miles 86-mile range; my Soul EV commute is over Cars in the US do not get a battery with new cells they get a refurbished battery. Using my car as an example to show how...

Re: Buying Used 2015 Soul EV , Any advices ?

- I suggest you read about all the problems with DIY battery replacements in Jordan. Import of used Soul EVs to Jordan And the problems the original Soul EV has in the hot desert area of the US Arizona SOUL EV Heat testing I would advise not to import an EV into Egypt without liquid cooling of the b...

Re: 2016 Soul EV+ ... is my battery eligible for replacement?

- If SoulSpy says 76% then you are probably within a few months of hitting the level at which you will get a free battery replacement. You may as well start talking to your service center about this. Find out if the SOH test is free. If so go and get it done now. They will 'accidentally' reset your ...

Re: MSDS EV battery pack

- I would phone the Chemtrec number listed on these Safety sheets for other popular EVs. The same number on both suggests they do most. https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-e9lcg5nvr/products/4493/images/9378/MSDS_Niaan__44220.1551918284.500.750.png?c=2 https://abload.de/img/batteryh4kxd.png

Re: Range for Fully Charged(?) 2017 Soul

- A 2017 Soul EV doesn't last long in Phoenix. Here's a previous post from June 2018 :- Re: Arizona SOUL EV Heat testing - Good luck with your new car. This thread suggests the battery will need replacing within a few years. As long as your commute is possible with a 70% degraded battery, then you w...

Re: Upgrading the Korean Map

- Added the latest update - ST.PSEV.KR.E545.210709 Again not much new. But for those with the new EV6 it does add a 'Kia Pay' option to automatically pay for EV chargers. It brings Hyundai / Kia closer to Tesla where you can just plug in at a charger and be automatically billed. This service require...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

- SoulEVSpy knows nothing about what firmware the car has had applied. The current version of the Soul EVSpy paid-for app shows a fantasy number for SOH exactly the same as mentioned above. Presumably all the other apps will do the same. I'll post below when I have a screenshot. https://abload.de/im...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

...Jeju, are you saying that the SOH that I read will never report accurately with the new battery and BMS firmware? Is that because Kia changed the algorithm and now the Soul EV Spy Lite app doesn't know how to calculate it anymore? For the first few years yes. Given that the Soul EV Spy Lite app ...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

- Great that they fixed your car with the proper software. Your SOH isn't really 111.5%. That is just a fantasy number that pretends to estimate the buffer size. In reality your SOH is probably 100%. The fantasy number was introduced to take account of the buffer size in the original 27kWh car with ...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

...Is the BMS firmware different for the different battery chemistries? My '16 Kia Soul EV recently got a 37510-E4200R battery replacement. I noticed that the SOH still reads 68.4%, same as when I brought it in. I assumed that they would need to update the BMS firmware to handle the new chemistry, ...
