Re: Help wanted analyzing Soul Spy EV Battery results

Thank you both, this is very helpful! After each charge cycle (< 20% to 100%) the range starts to decrease. It went from 140, 130 and now at 120 km (while weather is getting warmer). At 100% charge the SOH is still 42,8%, battery cell map looks the same but with higher values around 4.00. ... At 10...

Re: Help wanted analyzing Soul Spy EV Battery results

Thanks for your replies! To make my case against Kia here, I am going to write them a report and letter. They are in terrible denial and tell me this car is normal. Sorry for asking so many questions, but here we go: .... Kia can also read out the SOH with their Kia KDS system. Here are 2 readouts ...

Re: Help wanted analyzing Soul Spy EV Battery results

Apparently your BMS has been recalibrated anyway and the SOH% is bad. You do not need to measure this at 100% SOC. So it is below 70% SOH and you should get a replacement battery under guarantee (assuming the service intervals have been done by the previous owner).

Re: I only get 50 km, 2015 Soul estimates 130.

Haha thanks! They called me back and told me indeed it has to be above 10ºC. So they found out :D . As I have no possibility to charge indoors, I'll have to wait for warmer weather. Is it really true that they cannot determine a SOH when the BMS is not calibrated? They just read out what the BMS th...

Re: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1543242002564112/?ref=share - The group is private though I’m not sure how to check if I have a battery heater or the number of the update that messed up the heat pump. But apparently it wasn’t part of the e-brake update, but a service action regarding BMS/FATC they ...

kiaaruba wrote:Thanks for reply, but what are typical values for good cells and what is the voltage a battery goes bad?
Further can one cell dropped in voltage to 3.74V have such high impact on millage with full charge.

Re: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427

For me the reason to have an software update was this recall for the EPB: ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) LOGIC IMPROVEMENT(SC191). And while applying it, they found also another software update, which they told me was related to airco and charging. Which one, I do not know, but suspected SA427.

Re: Heat pump stopped working, no apparent cause

Thus, I doubt your vehicle would have had the same FATC update that was done on mine and some others (2016-2017 model years). I point this out only because I do not want to confuse the issue, and it would seem that we are finally starting to narrow down the cause of this problem. I do indeed not kn...

Re: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427

How can I check I have a battery heater? If you look at torque there are two values for the temperature of the battery heater. Without a heater those 2 values are always zero because the necessary sensors do not exist. Hmm, Torque gave me -50.0 C as answer for both. This is what I have in the .csv:...

...I live in the Netherlands and with the temperatures around 0 degrees Celcius, my heatpump is just working as expected, although I had the software update on my Kia Soul EV of 2014: BMS software update .
