Re: Kona EV recalled globally over concern of fire risk.

- Hyundai announced a global recall of the Kona EV to replace the battery packs. GM has not announced a similar recall for the B olt EV , instead they are offering a software fix. This announcement pops up on the main page of Hyundai's Korean website. This is to inform Kona Electric/Ioniq Electric/E...

Re: Help wanted analyzing Soul Spy EV Battery results

- The important number is the State of Health (SOH) = 42.8% This will qualify for a replacement battery under warranty. It seems likely that the BMS has now calibrated to the correct value. The dealer probably saw an incorrect 100% last time. Just take the car back in and ask them to do the check ag...

Re: Decharging is not linear?

- No it isn't. The only time I have seen that is in a car with a 'bad' battery. The BMS did not know about a 'bad' cell or module until the SOC fell to about 50% and then it re-estimated the remaining energy much lower than before. I have also seen a couple of videos on YouTube where cars have sudde...

Doesn't seem to add much.

Re: New at Home Charging Concerns

- Given the temperatures where you are right now, maybe never. Some of the power from the cable goes to heating up the battery. With an L1 cable the power you are getting may be less than is needed for the battery heater. But given the data you show it seems more likely that you will be able to rech...

Re: Does a battery take less charge when it is cold outside?

-
I think it is true.
A new battery with nominal energy capacity of 27kWh will be able to accept a bit more than 27kWh when it is warm and a bit less when it is cold.
I doubt this is a difference of more then 1kWh though.

Re: I only get 50 km, 2015 Soul estimates 130.

- No. It is not normal. There are a couple of unlikely possibilities that aren't a bad battery. 1/ Climate. Yesterday was +20C and today is -20C. And the GOM is adjusting to that fact. 2/ Road Conditions. Yesterday you drove down a steep mountain, and today you are driving up. Common sense suggests ...

Re: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427

- I have 2 Soul EVs. Both made in April 2015. The first I bought new nearly 6 years ago. It has never had a BMS upgrade. The Torque codes we use were created on this car. When I checked today I see. https://abload.de/img/photo_2021-02-05_21-0cwko9.jpg I have no battery heater, therefore no sensors, ...

ZuinigeRijder wrote:How can I check I have a battery heater?

If you look at torque there are two values for the temperature of the battery heater.
Without a heater those 2 values are always zero because the necessary sensors do not exist.
