Re: Heat pump stopped working, no apparent cause

Hi Jeju, Thanks for your reply. Yeah, that's what I figured (they are incorrect). I met with the manager of the dealer last Thursday and expressed these concerns. I'm waiting for him to review all of my emails to the service advisor and get back to me. He also said he'd speak to Kia Canada. Overall ...

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

Hi all, It's been a long time since I stopped by here.. Life got busy, but I still have the 2016 Soul Ev! It has been a great little car over the last 5 years. A few hiccups here and there but that's to be expected with a first Gen vehicle. Anyway, nothing the warranty didn't solve.. until now. So, ...

Re: Included 'trickle' charger

The answer is: Yes. It should work with the Kia Soul included EVSE in North America. Worked just fine on mine with an adapter that I fabricated, which I use occasionally to charge at another location when I don't feel like hauling my OpenEVSE with me. This is on a model year 2016 Kia. Also worked ju...

Ontario EVIP

Well, it looks like Ontario's new premier has decided, with his ham fist, to cancel the electric vehicle incentive program. But not to worry, they are cutting gasoline taxes by $0.10 / litre. Nice - first the Libtards hugely screw up the fast charger program rollout, then the PC idiots cancel the re...

End of lease vehicles

Hi all, Been a while since I've posted here. Still have the '16 Soul EV... so far, so good. Still crap for fast chargers in Ontario too, overall (almost any they have put in are insanely expensive to use, and the locations are often of questionable use). Anyhow.. I'm wondering how many here have rea...

Re: Battery Ageing Model

Update... I performed a 'calibration' of sorts as described by Jeju. I charged to 100%, then used the car over the next couple days until I had the battery down to about 4%, and the Turtle light came on. Immediately thereafter I charged the car to 100% (last night) at a rate of 208-212v/30A (~6 kw)....

Re: Battery Ageing Model

I'm a little concerned about my stats. I generally baby the battery too.. charge to 80% or short bump up charges from 40 - 60 or so between drives... almost no L3 charges to date (maybe a half dozen). Yet, I've got around 22,500 km on the meter with this: CEC 5656 kw CED 5472 kw Max det: 13%, cell #...

Re: Interior 12V charging sockets?

I'm wondering if the 12V sockets and/or USB ports for charging phones and such keep pulling power after the car is shut off. I'm thinking about getting a dashcam, but I don't want it to be pulling power from the batteries when the car is off. I've noticed that mine (the two in the front) are discon...

Re: highway handling

I've never driven a gasoline Soul, but my Soul EV feels nice and solid and well built at all speeds. No trace of wander at highway speeds either. Several of my friends who have gasoline cars have commented on how up market and high quality it feels to ride in the Soul EV. It is a big square box so ...
