Re: Miles per kwh confusion

- If you reset the instrument cluster at the top of a mountain, you will have a very good 'energy consumption' number at the bottom. (This example was actually caused by a glitch in the Navi software - not a reset - but the idea is the same.) As you can see this does not fool the GOM into giving you...

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

-
I was editing my post above at the same time Ian commented on a draft version of that post.
His reply was to a short comment about the GOM.

Re: Miles per kwh confusion

- Reset the 'Energy Consumption' shown in the instrument cluster by pushing the triangle button by the steering wheel. The value we call GOM which shows the estimated range is officially called DTE on this display. https://abload.de/img/photo_2021-06-18_15-3wjjhc.jpg https://abload.de/img/photo_2021...

Re: Cells in HV battery

- There is still so much we don't know about the battery including the size of the pouch cells. It seems likely that the E375 and the E400 cells are identical in size because my car had a replacement battery where 192 E375 cells were taken out of the pack and 192 E400 cells put in. The position and ...

Re: Upgrading the Korean Map

- Have now installed the June 2021 software. (ST.PSEV.KR.E544.210511) Again it doesn't seem to add much. But it did cause 2 glitches. 1/ The Charge Timer lost the 80% setting. But did keep the time. https://abload.de/img/photo_2021-06-03_23-50tkzz.jpg 2/ The energy consumption reset to 99.9 https://...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

- The BMS in cars with replacement batteries that have the updated cells is significantly altered. AFAIK the recent BMS update to cars with the original battery is not. (And yes I know I they messed up the heat pump with a badly written update.) Can you all check the value shown in Torque for the ba...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

From reading with Torque and Soul EV Spy, it shows 96*2 cells managed by BMS. Total voltage also indicate total of 96 groupss. My guess is my car will only use 96 out of available 100, with likely intermediate pack connection (4 not used at all). It would do the math since dealer service department...

Re: Analysis of a replacement battery.

Got new battery this week (37510-E4250R) on my 2016... Great. Glad you got a new battery. Edit - Corrected my mistake - E4250R is 96 cells not 100. If your car is a 2016 originally sold in Canada then your previous pack was a 27kWh 96 cell pack with battery heater. (37510-E4050) Your recently insta...

Re: Setting up Torque to show BMS data

' I saw this disclaimer on a Tesla app. It seems appropriate for the Torque codes we use too. "Information shown in this app was not meant for the public and may be inaccurate, subject to change or disappear as the car gets software updates. This information is presented for entertainment purpo...

Re: Battery replacement woes

- Your car has a 27kWh battery not 30kWh. From the data you give from your tests that would be SOH = 80%. You will not get a replacement battery until SOH goes below 70%. It is more common than not that the Kia dealers reset the battery computer to give you a false reading. They have no idea that th...
