battery replacement advise

Mon Nov 22, 2021 1:58 pm

got approval for a battery replacement on my 2016 soul. the car has 47k miles and the degradation ramped up this summer and the range dropped below 50 miles. the car is at the dealer waiting for the battery to arrive for the replacement. we live in Florida, we do not have a garage for the vehicle and i am concerned that living in such a hot climate is not the best thing for a battery without active cooling. I would hate to only get another 50k out of the replacement battery. We also own a Chevy Volt and i am considering just selling the Soul and in a couple years getting a Kona ev, Niro ev, or even the new Ioniq 5.
thoughts?

Not a bad idea. Se what you are offered for it. Should be a ready market for it with a new battery.

On the other hand, replacement batteries in Europe are using the new technology cells which are much more robust.
