Installing a Dash Cam with Parking Motion detection

I have been hesitant to purchase a dash cam for this car. This is my first EV so I am concerned about efficiency if I have something on all the time. The folks over at blackboxmycar have sent me reassuring emails and a video of a Tesla install. Overheating seems to be an issue across the board.

Did either of you end up getting a dash cam? If so, did it affect efficiency/range at all? I'd like to get one for mine, as well.

I've found lots of great info/reviews regarding dashcams from this site-- dashcamtalk.

I have installed the VIOFO A119 w/GPS from SPYTEC with capacitor instead of battery, less heat problem, for $99 and it gives me great pictures. It is very unobtrusive and I also bought the polarizing filter $15 to cut out reflections works well. This is my third car cam I had a Mini 0503 which was good but had heat problems and I have a Garmin NUVI Cam LMT also a great camera and 6 inch GPS. No longer need the GPS so it is for sale perfect condition almost new with box and all parts.
The dash cams use such a tiny amount of electricity that my car does not even register the amount. Turns on and off with the start up and shut down of the car.
