why no unplugged cabin preconditioning?

While get that cabin preconditioning is meant to save battery by using wall power to hear the car - why not allow it via the app unplugged? Sure seems nicer to enter a warm car than a cold one in subfreezing temps.

you have a point.

but the biggest reason for me to get an EV is to go green, the heated seat and steering wheel make the car comfortable enough in less than a minute.

I'll second that feature request. On some nights I don't plug in my car to charge and it would still be nice to come out to the windows already defrosted.
