Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

Ok, we are now about 5-6 weeks into waiting for Kia to get back to us with what the buyout offer is. The wife has been calling Kia and e-mailing them daily and is getting no response. This is the same scenario that played out when going back and forth to the dealer trying to get the car...

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

Not horrible really... I'll let you know what the buyback offer is when we get it. The $3,500 would just be free money, and we could then sell the car to Carvana or whomever after we get the $3,500. So if the buyback offer is > ($3,500 + Carvana), we probably take the buyback.

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

My wife just received an email from Kia with two options: Vehicle buyback or $3,500. The buyback requires 6 items of paperwork, including the original sales contract from 2017 when she bought it off my 3 year lease. She is going to the dealer today to get a copy of that if they have it. Car is...

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

I don't know what Kia is suggesting, but there was no work done on the battery, only a software update. The wife has been dealing with the situation. If you want, I can see if I can get the work invoice and provide further details. Let me know. That might provide software update details. RT

Kia dealer has my SoulEV for 3+ months

Our 2015 has been in the shop for about one month now. Kia provided an EV6 loaner. The 10 year battery warranty is due to expire in a few months. Question: If Kia just sits on the car till the 10 years are up, is the battery then out of warranty and they are no longer on the hook to fix it? RT

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Amazingly enough, we got the car back yesterday with what the dealer said was a re-manufactured replacement battery. Could be that they are using older batteries that have been disassembled with the still viable modules (?) being used to replace bad ones in the failed packs. Seems like for such...

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Our 2015 Kia Soul EV had it's first large battery replacement back in 2019, after about 35,000 miles. Just heard back from the dealership that the large battery needs replacing again, currently at 70,000 miles. This is apparently going to take one month. Here is my question: What is the cost to...

Kia Access app and UVO Link

It turns out that my 5 year free subscription to UVO services expired. It took about 3 hours of web searching the Kia site to figure that out. Given that, and the rather high cost of the service, we won't be subscribing. Ironically, primary app usage was to verify the timed charging took place...

Kia Access app and UVO Link

Anyone else trying to figure this out... Soul 2015 EV, had been using the Kia Access android phone app to access the cars dashboard to check battery charge level, etc. App stops working a couple weeks ago. Can't access any of the things I normally look at: dashboard, locations, etc. I finally...

What should I know before a battery replacement?

I think we are about 8 months into our 2015 replacement battery. Just checked now and a 67% charge is showing 81 miles estimated range. Car now has 39,406 miles. Don't drive 75mph after your car has been sitting in the hot sun all day. RT

    Experience with replacement batteries

6 months into replacement of 2015 battery. 80% charge indicates 98 mile range. Not sure why the range is so much better now given that the range when new was 92 EPA miles.
