Looks like Lee Johnson lowered the monthly payment on the EV Plus by $10. It's not enough for me, given the existing battery degradation issues. Extension of the tax credit also opens up more options in 2018 if you can afford to be patient.

Does CCS have an advantage of some sort over Chademo?

Never thought of doing that, but I don't think the car could handle it. Best practices (and best etiquette for other EV drivers) would be to disconnect from the Quick Charger when you're about 85-90% of charge or so, and switch to the level 2. Free up the quick charger for those who are closer...
