The software was updated successfully and no immediate issues found. Will have to watch the next few charging cycles but seems ok so far. The dealer said that they've done over 20 so far and haven’t had any vehicles with issues.
Got the letter finally and booked in for Thursday next week. Will update with how it goes.
Not confident with hearing a few days ago that they didn’t know anything about it to now the know what it do and I’m booked in. Fingers crossed.
Sad, but not really surprised. Soul EV is a “compromise” EV given that it’s based on an ICE chassis and structure. Kia has matured past this stage and now have dedicated EV platforms that were developed from the start to be an EV platform.
Hopefully, the next generation Soul drops ICE and is...
Has anybody heard any news on how this recall is progressing? Local Dealer has no clue.
I understand these things sometimes progress fairly slowly, but we’re now into 5 months since the first notices were sent out!
If leaving it outside often then consider getting a cover such as this:

I've not had an issue very often so haven't got one yet. When the door doesn't open on its own then I pop the hood and use the "emergency"...
Now up to 13.0v and 59%. Seems like progress is slow but improving. Sounds like it might need that high amp “power charge” mentioned earlier in the thread (which my charging unit can’t do).
Might have to take it into the dealer or somewhere with a high amp charger. At least it seems to be out...
Disappointed to see such an issue from a vehicle only in service for 7 months and only 12,000 kms since delivery in June ‘18. Not to make light of your situation, but at least you got a more reasonable amount of service life out of yours!
So, it “warmed up” to only -6C :-) and after the day’s commute it came back holding 12.9v and increased to 54%. Not great, but promising.
It’s forecasted to gradually rise over the next 24 hrs up to +6C so hope will see some further recover tomorrow after staying on the tender overnight and...
Looks like it recovered to 12.9v and 49% but I don’t know the levels from when it was too low. It didn’t recover as much as I’d hoped, but it was still pretty cold again overnight.
It was able to start this morning and I moved it back & forth ok. Will see if a 60 on round trip to work and...
Timely coincidence that this thread popped up today - we encountered a no start situation this morning!
It sat unused from Friday evening until this morning in the -20C temperatures, albeit it a few degrees warmer being parked in the garage. When my daughter went to drive to work this morning...
Those are the same options in our 2018, so nothing new there that I'm aware of. Granted, we're in Canada too - but I doubt that makes a difference. Will be interested to see what others say.
