OBC Not Working But Need Charging

This happened to me either last winter or the one previous - basically the worst time for this issue. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it. Unfortunately for me I was out of warranty and had to pay out of pocket. Took about a week and once they had the part they had it replaced in...

OBC Not Working But Need Charging

I can't say for certain regarding yours, but when my OBC died it didn't work on either AC or DC charging.

    After battery replacement

Who replaced it? I'd start there as they should have the most knowledge when it comes to the work done on your vehicle. That said: I do recall the Nissan LEAF needing some cleaver solutions due to software issues with the replacement batteries but can't recall the exact details since I've lost...

    Adventure Begins !

I really should make a video just so I can link to it instead of writing this out everytime. That said, I haven't so.. Have you recalibrated the battery recently, and how do you do that? It has to be warmer than 15°C/59°F (meaning you're out of luck in the winter), you need to fully charge up...

Refurbished or reconditioned EV battery for 2016 soul, EV

Check and see if your 2016 is covered by the battery fire recall. Regardless of mileage you're in it.

    KIA EV Soul battery decay

Escalate to Kia corporate. Your battery is covered for 160,000km or 8 years with at least 70% SoH. That, or tell them they're wrong and you're about to escalate unless they wanna get their ducks in a row now rather than later.

It is at a huge Chevy dealer and shows 51 mile range but good price and pretty

Is the warranty worse in America than it is in Canada? Lots of these get their battery replaced under warranty and I don't have any doubt that the Soul here will need one too. If it's out of coverage, wouldn't touch it. If it still is, you better get a dongle - cheaper than losing out on a HV...

    Server Issues - moving website

So the forums "work" but the landing page is still wonky - just a heads up. Windows 11 - Microsoft Edge if that matters/helps.

Soul 2015 - Check EV system (error) / battery cooling failure?

I wish I could be of more help here, but are you sure it's the motor that's getting hot? Perhaps there's been a mistranslation? The only thing I could see getting hot besides the battery during/after charging would be the inverter. Which, interestingly enough, is known to have issues in the...

2014 won't charge AC or Chademo

The early model years seem to have an issue with the OBC which eventually requires replacement. Sorry it's out of warranty, get ready for a sticker shock when you take it into the dealer.. Had to do mine this winter. $4000 when everything was all said and done.

    2016 needs Onboard Charger

I had to replace mine this winter. I was outside of the 160,000km EV powertrain warranty coverage and paid ~$4,000. Double check that claim that you're not covered because you bought it used. Mines used, and was a taxi prior, yet Kia footed the bill when it came to replacing the battery pack...

buying a used 2016 kia soul from carvana - does this look right

Battery is shot if it's showing that for range. Unless you're able to get it replaced under warranty, pass.

2017 Soul EV charging issue. Stops on 85%

Any idea how "healthy" your battery is? I suspect you've rarely, if ever, discharged and recharged your battery and thus the BMS hasn't been able to gauge the battery's health until now. Only a guess, but I'd wager your recent long range trip did just that and finally your car has done a...

    Battery Backorder? Since Nov '21

I'd ask your dealer why everyone else didn't have to do that but you do? Frankly if the warranty work has been approved - they don't need your car until the part arrives. So unless they found the battery pack to be unsafe, go get your car. Edit: Maybe more important, ensure they aren't lying...
