Hi All,
I currently drive about the place in an old Mx5 but took a Mk1 Kia Soul EV for a spin and loved it. It felt like an old school warm hatch. So much fun. Preferred it vastly over the numb steering of the BMW i3.
Was disappointed to learn researching that... the batteries seem to be a real issue.
I'm well used to building and hacking things of all kinds but it seems like with the SoulEv it's a question of forget about it... once the battery goes beyond warranty, it's an expensive replacement. You cant just buy a few cells from EBay and DIY fit them.
The Soul Ev also really seems to suffer from battery degradation...
Are my assumptions correct?
