Similar issue for me - my 2016 is failing to charge when my EVSE (OpenEVSE) is set for 28A or more - if I throttle it to 16A, it charges just fine.
I tried someone else’s Chargepoint home L2 at 32A and it failed as well. But lower powered L2 at the office works OK.
The symptom on my L2 at...
My contrarian view. The shifter design of the Soul was a major reason I bought the car. I wanted something for all the others in my family that was perfectly intuitive for them to drive just like the Auto transmission ICE cars we already have. They've learned safe driving on snow and the...
I had noticed similar results at L1 with my openEVSE but I hadn't taken the time to double check the pilot signal waveform. Good to know I wasn't imagining things !
LOL I should have gone to Frisby in the first place.
Their wheel and tire package price for 16" steelies (no TPMS) was essentially same as T-R dot com for 15's ... Interestingly, their wheel fitment guide did not have an explicit entry for Soul EV and, for the regular Soul, 15" apparently...
Sigh - you got that right.
The 15" steel wheel from TireRack is 13" ID at the mounting plane to the brake disk - eg. max clearance would be 6.5" from the center of the axle. I measure the outside of the caliper is 6-3/4" from the center of the axle (+/-) - anyway its bigger than the ID of...
I ordered the 15" XIce tires and steelies from TireRack ... plan to try to fit them in the next 2 weeks or so ... fingers crossed. Its just been a little too warm to put the snows on quite yet.
On a similar but different note, I'm wondering what you guys are doing for rubber mats ? I just...
I ran into something a week ago on my 2016.
Was somewhere around 80-90% charge and driving around the neighborhood running errands. While accelerating, I felt a bit of a wheel slip / jolt (felt like that anyway) - then the warning light came on but car was still driving OK so kept going.
A...
LOL - Perhaps you'd be surprised how little technical competence exists in the "technically literate" crowd let alone the general population
Am genuinely curious what features you find the most useful on the OpenEVSE (or would be on your wishlist for a purchased EVSE). Without...
Might be worth taking a look at ... https://www.esasafe.com/consumers/productsafety/product-approval-safety which states (emphasis is mine) ...
The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Ontario Regulation 438/07 require that all electrical products and devices (including equipment) be...
It's more money but the SPX Power Express EL-50600A (Bosch owned I guess) is listed on the MTO approved list - when you click on the SPX link from the MTO site it takes you to the Bosch website.
This charger has a plug and adjustable current which makes it kind of flexible I think.
That said...
Possibly useful for supplementing some sort of continuous draw on the 12V housekeeping battery and/or to run some ventilation fans ... not for the main battery.
Well I ended up getting just a little more off the price in lieu of a financing arrangement from Hunt Club and with that it came pretty close to the best price I got from a Toronto dealer so I pulled the trigger.
I'll be in a sunroof / titanium colored model (stealth mode ...) come next...
Can you Canadian buyers confirm - did you need a coupon or promo code to get the discounted (or free) EVSE from Bosch - or just call them up with VIN ?
