Dead easy to change and dirt cheap to buy, personally I would say DIY it every time and save wating money on paying a dealer to do it (or not) because if my own experience is anything to go by the dealers rarely do change them themselves even though they charge for them as part of the so called...
The little battery doesn't have a particularly high capacity many are replaced unnecessarily imho as they could be masking a potential different fault.
The cars don't usually have much of a parasitic load but this can increase significantly especially if an ECU crashes or hangs without shutting...
@Kish Thankyou for making the time to share this very interesting reading
A couple of things spring to mind
I wonder if the previous owner overheated the battery regularly as well by doing regular long trips, the cumulative result may have been the degradation you inherited.
I also wonder if...
Apologies I have not read all 41 pages of this thread to check if this question has been answered already:
Has anyone captured the sequence of Can Bus messages from the timer that starts and stops the cabin preheating and also whether there is really any physical dependency on the mains being...
I agree it will be via Can Bus and sending can bus messages remotely is not impossible with the correct hardware.
I think my question is best placed in the Soul Spy thread
It very much depends if anyone has captured the sequence of Can Bus messages yet that start and stop the preheating and...
Hi
I have a question
Do the Souls with UVO have the ability to start the heater remotely even if not plugged into an EVSE?
I have a UK Soul EV and Kia decided we did not warrant receiving UVO in the UK!
I am pondering how easy it might be to add a remote control and obviously if the UVO...
Thanks Denon I agree
I have just bought a set for front and back
both will require significant modification but the holes are in the right place so they will fit after a bit of persuasion
Unfortunately that PDF is for the US UVO type head unit
The UK/European one is different
There probably is a a similar sequence to get in to engineering mode but from which screen and where to press is a mystery.
Yes that was from a post on SpeakEV sorry, brain fade, replaced it with one from Photobucket.
I have the SW and Map version etc what I don't have is a method to get the AVN unit info like in the link I posted
I would like to say thanks for the effort put in to generate these custom PIDs
I find the info especially TPMS really useful.
Why KIA only provided a TPMS dash warning light beats me when real time info is available.
only one problem with Torque is I wish there was a GUI based Dash editor!
I...
