Canadian availability of the Soul EV

I've got to back the dealers on this one too. I waited 6 months for my soul from kia on huntclub, and when my car showed up (Kia sent the wrong one) the dealer didn't even know it was coming, it was just there one morning. Kia could sell so many of these cars if they could ship in a reasonable...

Battery discharge rate in stand-by mode ?

Has anyone left there car 'on' without driving it for any extended length of time? Strange question I know, but I ask because I'm taking it to the drive-in theatre on Saturday and it will be left on for 4.5hrs not plugged in. I assume the 12v batt is only kept charged while the car is 'on'. The...

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

I did get rid of the reverse buzzer/fake engine sound. It was very easy, pull a few clips out of the drivers side front wheel splash shield, then reach to the end of the bumper support and disconnect the wiring clip to the speaker.

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

http://factorypdfservicemanuals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=404 Got the manual there and its been great. It goes through literally every component of the car. It even has small general note sections for the technicians explaining how certain EV components function with...

Is reverse done by transmission or electrionic?

Got it from this website, and had a link emailed to me where I was able to download the .pdf version to my phone and PC. Didn't have the table of contents for some reason, so it took a while to sort through 1400 pages...

Is reverse done by transmission or electrionic?

I took a look in the factory service manual at the assembly and there are 5 gears on the rack, and it appears to be set up on a direct drive (no clutches or converters or synchros) so I'd have to assume that the motor reverses. Given that there's no gear changing and meshing, I can't see why it...

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

I haven't removed the bumper before, but I didn't like/wanted to remove the fake engine sound and reverse beeper so I bought the factory service manual for 15 bux online and it shows exactly how to remove the bumper, horn etc. Kind of handy to have. I can't upload the .pdf or I'd share the...

    Roof rack

Bumping this topic because I'm hoping someone has found some roof rack options

    Switching Rims

Also regarding the center plates on the stock wheels, they screw in from the back side of the rim. You can remove the plastic insert but the rim looks like it's missing something after. But you could easily remove them to paint them if you'd like

    Switching Rims

I haven't posted a picture because I can't figure out how, but I did end up switching the factory wheels out with a 16" 17lb open spoke rim. Did not change my range or kw/100 at all. So if you dont like the look of the aerodynamic pizza dish wheels, then swap them out with something equally...

Canadian availability of the Soul EV

Late reply, but I had waited almost 6 months for mine and it showed up without even the dealer being notified it was coming. Completely love the car and was well worth the wait. As for sales numbers, I feel that they much higher then whats quoted in this thread. Kia on Huntclub in Ottawa has...

    Driving distance diminishing quickly

@irfca- That energy number you posted really helps show the effectiveness of the heat pump. Similar temperature outdoors and my cabin heater (w/o heat pump) is using anywhere from 3-4 kw/hr

Range with B-Mode and/or Active Eco Mode?

Some of the cali owners probably know a little more about how much the AC drops range, but with using the heater, so far with B all the time and eco most of the time, 60 miles is easily done. Mind you eco and B mode both wouldn't really contribute to any extra range with just highway cruising...

    My review/feed back

The only reason I can think they include the smaller charger is so more people can use existing 240v circuits at home. 8/3 bx is a big wire to run. I guess its a tough comparison with or without the heat pump. My power usage is almost dead on with what you just said, except when I'm driving...

    Air Conditioning Not Working

Was this happening while the car was plugged in or while driving?

    Kia Soul EV+ Stereo System

Sounds great, but the sxm feature freezes up some times. I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem though.

    My review/feed back

that's what I would've thought too....and you could very well be right. There's nothing overly precise about my measurement. I used the same speed and same intersection every morning to try it out. What gave me the impression that it's not directly related to speed was watching the battery usage...

    My review/feed back

I don't test drive vehicles for a living, but I've owned 36 cars in 15 years, and I drive about 125000km a year so I'll give my feedback on my soul so far. I know a lot of people considering buying it google some of these topics and read these forums so I'll try and hit some key points for...

    Do Car Seats Fit?

I drive with two forward facing child seats and a golden retriever sitting between them almost every day of the week. No issues with fitment. But they are close enough to the front seats to constantly kick it...but that's been the case with all our vehicles except our crew cab truck.

Could the battery pack be replaced with a future generation?

I may be wrong but I thought tesla had upgraded the older batteries in their roadsters. So I think it's realistic that when it comes time to replace the battery in the soul, there'll be higher density replacements...and whatever software upgrades are needed.
