The origin of the 'B' mode setting.

Are you aware that the shifter will move up from B to N without pressing the button on the shifter? You can just press up and end up in neutral. The button is required to move to reverse and park. I often change between N D and B when traveling in very hilly areas.

    Level 2 Charger Recommendations?

My vote is for the OpenEVSE. https://store.openevse.com/ You have to be handy and not be afraid of 240v. But for around $500 you get a unit with the features of a $2k unit. I bought mine with no rebate, and don't regret a thing.

Tires on my new Kia suck

The sole purpose of the stock tires is to reduce rolling resistance. That means no grip, crappy balance, and numb feel. My goal is to absolutely shred these tires so I can buy new ones. I haven't looked yet, but I'm hoping a thicker rear sway bar is available.... otherwise I'll have to have...

is it possible to get stiffer steering than Sport mode?

There is one easy way.... pull the connector off the steering assist motor! :) I've thought about it... I'm sure it would light up the dash though.

    (D)rive vs. (B)rake

Thanks to everyone for their input! I have just under 900km on the car now and have actually started using Brake mode more. Depending on the drive I will move back and forth between D and B. My driving never exceeds 100km in a day, so I've also found I've been driving a little aggressively...

    Living on the 120v charger.

I did my best to find out the following info before I bought the car and had a hard time. So now that I know, I'd like to share it and hopefully it will help others. Not everyone can get a 240v charger, or at least right away. I have a friend that is an electrician, but booking him to do free...

    Day time running lights

A quick update. Engaging the parking brake does not turn off the DRLs.... :(

Is 2017 the Year of the Electric Car Price Drop?

Like all technology, buy what you can afford, when you want it. If you keep waiting for what is to come, you will never buy it. I've read about the battery capacity increases for the 2017 model year, but that will be October at the earliest. Screw it! I want one now!

    Day time running lights

Most cars in Canada will shut off the DRL's when the Parking/Emergency brake is set. When off road, in my last vehicle, with good moon light I could lift the brake one click, turn the dash lights low and drive once my eyes got used to the low light level. This allows you to see everything...

    (D)rive vs. (B)rake

I've owned the car for only 2 days. I have a total of 102km on the odometer. I've also never run the battery down under 75%. Now that the disclaimer is out of way, I'd like to start a discussion on Drive vs Brake. I've driven quite a bit in Brake, both in city and the highway. It takes a...
