InsideEVs posted an article saying that the Soul EV's 25 minute charge time is a 'misleading marketing tool'

Their claim is that since Kia says the vehicle can charge in 25 minutes using a 100kW CHAdeMO quick charger, and there are no 100kW CHAdeMOs in the real world yet, it is essentially false marketing. In addition, the Soul EV commercial shows a user plugging in a single-phase AC plug, not a CHAdeMO DC quick charge plug.

Thoughts? I think it may be slightly misleading, but the fact is that by the time the Soul EV hits the market, the CHAdeMO network will have expanded, and charger output rates will have increased too.

Battery can do 25 minutes, question is, can the charger. While not false, it could lead to unrealistic expectations (as could the 25 minute w/ L2 picture). Better to under promise and over deliver.

It's a mistake. KIA hasn't learned anything from Nissan's mistakes apparently.

Nissan has to give away CHAdeMO units here in New England, to get anyone to install them, and they're all rated 50kW. It's going to be a while before anyone wants to upgrade to 100kW.
