How to find out which battery?

Thu Jan 10, 2019 9:32 pm

Hey. Is it possible to somehow determine the installed 27 kWh or 30 kWh battery by the VIN code?
Or where it can be found in the documentation?

The VIN contains the model year and the 2018 model year was when the battery increased from 27kWh to 30kWh.

I have a car in 2017, but SOH 107%! The remaining cars (2016) show normal SOH 92-95%
I guess my 2017 car already has a 30 kW battery! How to check it without removing it from the car?

I have a 2016 model year that I bought in September 2015, vehicle model years are not actual years. You can decode the VIN at https://www.faxvin.com/vin-decoder

The real way to tell is by the number of cells in the battery, see https://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=938 so do you have 96 or 100 entries in Torque Pro / Soul Spy?
