FYI, you can also just unscrew the EPB unit from the caliper, manually wind it back it (and lubricate it while you are at it), and then mount it back onto the caliper when you are done with the service. When you hit the EPB, you will hear it taking some time to wind back out until it hits...

Excellent news. I will have mine updated as well and see what happens. It's getting a little warmer now so I have some concerns about that (for testing purposes), but I'll test it on a cold night and make sure it is working after the update. After that, I will chill the ambient temp sensor down...

Indeed - and after pushing Kia Canada for months, and for them STILL (now) to be telling the same story to me and others (that nothing is wrong with the car), I'm disgusted at their apparent dishonesty and lack of concern for their customers.
