How much to get an EVSE installed by a certified electrician

Got a quote from Bosch and it is ~CAD$600.

How much did it cost you? Or did you DIY?

Mine cost about $300 US to have installed, but it was less than two feet from the panel. This was in addition to the EVSE, of course.

You may want to ask how much for a 6-50 outlet alone and then get an EVSE with a plug on it instead of hardwired. I've found that once you mention "electric car charger install" the price goes through the roof as opposed to just asking for a new outlet.

DIY. The electrical panel in our home is surface mounted in the garage so the process was very straight forward.

I will end up paying around $750 CDN. It's a 30ft run from the panel and I had a 60A breaker w an armored 6 AWG line run to future proof the line as well as a junction box put in the line part way so a little more than a basic install. 50% of that I'll get back form the gov't though so < $400 out of pocket.
