UVO issue with streaming music

Has anyone else run into this problem? I have an iPhone 6. When driving, I have it plugged in via the USB charging port. When I press the Media button, my apple music or podcast app work fine. But, if I want to listen to a non-native Apple app, such as Tune-in radio or my Amazon Prime music app, the media app won't allow it, and always brings me back to my Apple app (either Music or Podcast). However, if I unplug my phone, I can use the other apps via the Bluetooth feature. I like to keep my phone plugged in while driving, so this is a bit disappointing.

I found a workaround. I plugged a phone charger into the 12 volt charger to charge my phone, instead of the USB port. Now, I van stream both iPhone native apps and 3rd party apps over the car audio system.

Do you notice a difference in audio quality when using BT instead of USB? BT usually has a lower audio quality.

Yes, but only slightly.
