    Refugees from mynissanleaf.com

As it turns out, two MNL members with experience running forums have started some. One, nissanleaf.guru is dedicated to the LEAF; the other, electricvehicles.club is for all EVs, with sub-forums for each. We'll see if either takes off - it really depends on whether or not MNL gets its act...

Owing to format and server changes at MNL.com, the site has become really tedious/almost unusable, so some of us are considering migrating our posts over here until matters improve there. This thread if for them.

So I just test drove a 2015 Kia Soul EV

I suspect you'll be happiest with the driving characteristics of the e-Golf or 500e, assuming they're available in your area. And for getting off the line in a hurry for cheap (with some torque steer), the Spark can't be beat.

    82 Mile Range 100% Charged

Speed? Weather? Terrain? Heat/defroster on how rarely? Load? Any or all of these will affect your range, as will your driving habits. It helps if you list your city and state in your profile, so people can get a general idea of what part of the country you're in when considering range issues.

SoCal Dealers and Selling over MSRP

We're in total agreement that the dealerships can set the policies, but they have to have salespeople that adhere to them (in fact, that prefer those policies), and they have to police their people. As I only buy a car when the previous one has reached the end of its useful life, my visits to...

SoCal Dealers and Selling over MSRP

Considering the length of time that the average salesperson or sales manager is at any one dealer, the odds of any of them still being there by the time you are in the market for another car are minimal. It's a high-turnover system, and unfortunately establishing lasting relationships with...

SoCal Dealers and Selling over MSRP

Seems to me it's a simple matter of customers being willing to pay over MSRP. Rather than wasting time publicizing the dealers, just don't buy/lease the car until you can do so for an acceptable price. It's only the people who walk into a dealer in 'gotta have it, now!' mode who pay over MSRP...

    Home charging

Assuming you're referring to the built-in charger on the car and not the portable charger that comes with it, all OBCs will work just fine with 200-250 volts. In the U.S. most public L2 EVSEs are 208 Volts, while most home ones are 240V - you'll get slightly more power from the latter, as the...

Kia announces U.S. prices for Soul EV

Not exactly. When Fiat announced the lease prices, the fine print said that they included a $1,500 dealer contribution, or some such wording. This contribution was voluntary and most dealers weren't honoring it, so the available lease prices were higher than the ones advertised by Fiat, and a...
