How to cut dashboard reflection in Windshield ?

I have a silver Soul EV with a light grey dashboard. I get a lot of reflections from that in the windshield. I would like to put a dull dark surface that covers drivers side part of dash to eliminate the reflections. I don't want a large dash cover that can be bought for $40.
Looking for simple-material ideas.
