I am wondering whether anyone else has shared a similar experience to me:

We had our 2016 Soul EV for about 6 months when it got into an accident. After the damage to the body was fixed, we noticed that the range on the car was now closer to 120km instead of 150-160km (on a full charge).

The car is still using up around 18.0 kW/100km, suggesting that we are getting well short of the stated 27 kW battery capacity. (18.0 kW/100km x 120 km = 21.6 kW).

We're not confident in the range estimation, but still it's definitely not secretly giving us 160km of range while telling us 120km.

It's been winter recently, which we know lowers the range a bit, but this is a lot lower. Besides, it has been quite a bit warmer recently, and the range hasn't budged from 120km.

Is it possible that an accident lowers the capacity of the battery? We've only had the car for a little over half a year. Would this fall under the battery warranty?

the range is subject to many exteriors conditions (inflate, temperature, inside temperature, pre-heated cabin before starting, geometry of the front and rear car ... highly damaged when accident appear !).
only a tool can check the battery : http://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=471&start=320#p6519

you can ask the SOH at your seller (with the GDS-M console for example).
